Camera Illumina: Lane Creek Park Ravine, Mission
Sunday, September 25th, from 1- 3 pm
At the back of the Mission Library Parking Lot, 33247 2nd avenue
I am very excited to be the artist in residence for Culture Days in Mission this year. I will be exhibiting Camera Illumina in Lane Creek Park ravine, one of the inspiration places that started the whole project. Come and take a look through three different handmade cameras that focus your attention on the details and movement that often go unnoticed in our natural landscape.
Joining me is musician Christopher John. He will be performing songs from his recently launched EP, The Resonant, which came out of his work during a place-based, ecological education MEd program. The music and art explore themes related to our relationship to the land as an experience of inter-being through the lense of wonder, gratitude, and reciprocity.
The event is presented by the City of Mission and takes place on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied territories of the Scowlitz, Matsqui, Kwantlen, and Leqá:mel First Nations who have loved and cared for this place since time immemorial.
